On Saturday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. Family Karate will be celebrating our 8th anniversary! We will have a cookout in the first pavilion at Fairport Harbor Beach Park. Family Karate provides burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and some beverages. We ask families to bring beverage, appetizers, salads, and desserts. There will be door prizes and games as well. This event will be held rain or shine. All classes are cancelled for Saturday, May 25 and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.

Family Karate welcomes Ciro Grandini to its staff to teach his Mind & Body martial Arts Program. He offers his classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6:30 to 9:00) and Saturday mornings (8:00 to 9:00). Sensei Grandini is a third degree black belt. He began his training under Master Moo Hwan Kim in Willoughby Hills. In addition, he has studied under Master Bill “Superfoot” Wallace and Master Ricard J. McLain to name a few.. He is offering classes for children ages 6 to 11 as well as classes for teens and adults. Welcome aboard, Sensei Ciro!

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day

On Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Family Karate’s Libby Hill will be leading tai chi and qigong classes in Veteran’s Park in the heart of Painesville to celebrate World Tai Chi & Qigong Day. This is a free event and all levels of expertise are welcome.

Black Belt Celebration - Tickets Available at Door!

You are invited to Family Karate’s annual Black Belt Celebration, a show where our newest black belts demonstrate their abilities. The show will be held at the Mentor Senior Center on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. The cost is $7.00/person. It will be followed by a reception. Children 4 and under are free.
