Mind & Body Martial Arts

January 03 2017

Mind & Body Martial Arts utilizes the traditional art of Taekwondo as its base material combined aspects of both the circular self-defense style of Hapkido along with the stamina, footwork, and dynamic striking power of American Kickboxing utilizing the Bill “Superfoot” Wallace Fighting System. Mind & Body Martial Arts opened its doors in April of 2013 at its current location in the Ohana Dojo under the direction of its Owner and Chief Instructor Master Ciro Grandini. Traditional group training classes are offered three days per week for both the Junior Program (ages 8 to 12) as well as the Adult Program (ages 13 and up).

Master Ciro Grandini began his martial arts training in both Taekwondo and Judo as a child under strict guidance of Grandmaster Moo Hwan Kim at Kim’s Judo and Taekwondo located in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. It was there that Master Grandini was taught the importance of a solid traditional base to be used as the foundation for advanced movement and techniques. After several years of dedicated traditional training under Grandmaster Kim, Master Grandini decided to bow off the traditional martial arts mat. Years later, Master Grandini resumed his martial arts training under Grandmaster Richard J. McClain and his staff of Instructors at The World Martial Arts and Superfoot Center in Mentor, Ohio. It was during this time Master Grandini would not only refreshed his skills in Taekwondo and Judo but was introduced to the circular self-defense style of Hapkido and American Kickboxing utilizing the Bill “Superfoot” Wallace Fighting System. In 2011, after years of dedicated training Master Grandini received his promotion to the honored rank of 1st Degree Black Belt (Cho Dan) under Grandmaster Richard J. McClain and Grandmaster Bill Wallace. Master Grandini continued to study, train and provide Instruction at The World Martial Arts and Superfoot Center until the retirement of his Instructor and friend Grandmaster Richard J. McClain on February 28, 2013 at which point the school was closed. Mind & Body Martial Arts opened its doors in April of 2013.

The goal of the Mind & Body Martial Arts program is to preserve the traditional practice of Taekwondo while assisting the students of today in become capable leaders of tomorrow. Master Ciro Grandini and Mind & Body Martial Arts are proud members of the “Superfoot” Fighting System, Professional Karate Commission, American Martial Arts Association and the Koroshi School of Defense. In addition, Master Grandini holds certification in the State of Ohio as a Professional Karate Commission Judging Official.

Master Ciro Grandini currently holds the honored rank of 4th Degree Black Belt (Sa Dan)
