Adult Fitness Programs
CardioKarate - Fitness Kickboxing - Tai Chi Chuan -
Yoga
Training at Family Karate is not limited to Kajukenpo. We offer a
number of other fitness and martial arts classes for teenagers and adults.
Some focus on physical fitness and losing weight, while others are built on
the development of the spirit and meditation.
CardioKarate is Family Karate’s aerobic martial arts
program. It has a quick pace, and although some classes move faster and are
more intense than others, any level of intensity in a cardioKarate class
provides for a good workout.
A Fitness Kickboxing class at Family Karate is comprised,
in short, of working out while hitting punching bags. Although similar to
cardioKarate, it differs in its use of actually hitting something, allowing
participants more room in determining the intensity of their workout.
Tai Chi Chuan is one of the oldest martial arts. In Tai Chi, the
pace is slow and the techniques focus on gentle manipulation of the joints.
It is not only physically and mentally engaging, but also spiritually
uplifting. To go through a Tai Chi form is an experience for which words
fail to do justice. At Family Karate, we incorporate two styles of
Tai Chi: Sun and Wu.
Yoga is an ancient Asian art of stretching that, like the other
fitness programs at Family Karate, exercises a practitioner
physically, mentally, and spiritually. Yoga’s physical counterpart is
different from any other workout because of the way it challenges the body
and at the same time relaxes it. And like Tai Chi, it is an internalized art
with strong meditative qualities.
These four programs are combined into one program for one price,
so that a fitness student can take advantage of any or all of our fitness
programs.
